Well our fourth edition of the One Foolish Monkey series went live a few hours ago (Dec 28) and thank you to Tom for pairing up with me in this wonderful Teaching experience for the Micro Teaching in Pairs on WizIQ – a course developed and designed by Dr Nellie Deutsch for Teacher Training online.
Today’s session dealt with the use of Codes for Teachers to use in their blogs or moodle pages or with their students in class, our slides contain some great links. You can see the live class recording on YouTube as well as find our slides and other tutorials on my tab One Foolish Monkey page.
This coming Wednesday Dec 31 will be the final Micro Teaching class for 2014, it will be about New Year celebrations around the globe, why not join us? Here’s the link to join free: http://www.wiziq.com/online-class/2264050-teachers-micro-teaching-in-a-live-online-class
If you would like to add your say in our collection of ‘stories’ for this presentation please go to the link above and add your ‘bit’ and an image too if you like and I will add it to the final presentation slide. Thank you.
A little note about Code – why use it? how difficult is it? do I need it? – these are some of the questions you probably ask yourself and wonder at the answers. One important thing to remember as a Teacher we are bound to ‘understand’ many things that we may not really ever need to use, but just knowing about these things will help us to understand our students just that little bit more. That’s how I see it and even if like me you know very little or nothing about code then believe me it’s quite fun when you can ‘learn’ with your students just how much fun it is to finally understand how simple it really is even to do something simple like reformat your email signature!
I don’t pretend to become an expert but it is handy to know something that can make our classrooms a lot more engaging for our students and colleagues too! Of course it doesn’t happen in a few minutes and time is always a problem for Teachers but in this technological age, we should be promoting learning in a new ‘fashion’ rather than simply following a text book. Besides if we learn along the way with our students – we too get to enjoy the ride!

I want to take this opportunity to say thank you for reading my posts and following my blog.
Wishing you and yours the best of the holiday season.
